Israel displaces hundreds of Palestinians after razing Negev homes

Zionist regime’s bulldozers demolished on Tuesday Palestinian homes and agricultural structures belonging to the Abu Qarshin family in the southern area of Rahat City in the Negev desert.

The demolitions happened after Zionist regime’s police forces imposed a tight security cordon on the area and blocked roads leading to it.

On Monday, Zionist regime’s bulldozers had completely razed the Palestinian village of al-Dahiya, north of Rahat, demolishing its mosque and more than 80 homes.

Around 300 members of the Abu Wadi family were left homeless as a result of the Israeli measures.

The demolitions came after the Beersheba district court rejected on Sunday a petition seeking to postpone the measure.

In recent weeks, far-right Israeli security minister Ben Gvir reiterated his intent to demolish hundreds of homes belonging to Palestinian citizens under the pretext of unlicensed construction.

These demolitions are part of a wider housing crisis facing Bedouin Palestinians in the Negev, where communities have long faced home demolitions, restrictions on construction and inadequate infrastructure.
