Zionist lobby no longer shy about its grip on US policy on Iran: Araghchi

In a post on his X account on Monday, Araghchi referred to a recent article in Israel Hayom, a newspaper owned by staunch US-based Zionism advocate Miriam Adelson, which called for deeper connections between the Zionist regime and the US so that any harm to Israel would carry costs for Washington.

“The Israel lobby is getting less shy about its grip on U.S. policy toward Iran. In Miriam Adelson's publication, the Lobby's loudspeaker says U.S. policy must ensure America pays a price for any slight [harm] against Israel,” he said.

Adelson has been a major donor to the ruling Republican Party in the US and an avid supporter of US President Donald Trump's anti-Palestinian and pro-Israeli policies.

Various reports have exposed Adelson's influence in key decision-making in the US government regarding the Palestinian issue and the US-Israeli aggression against Iran.

Araghchi suggested in his post that US efforts to reach a deal with Iran to permanently end the aggression against the country require more independence from the Israeli lobby, which has opposed any kind of agreement between Iran and the US.

 “High time for Washington to break free from these shackles,” he said.

Iran and the US reached an official understanding in June that allowed the US to end its military aggression and blockades against Iran in return for an easing of Iranian restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz, where lower transit rates have caused major hikes in international oil and commodity prices.

However, experts say the agreement has unraveled under direct influence from Zionist regime and the Zionist lobby in the US, as they are willing to drag on the war with Iran to inflict more harm on the country.
