Hamas calls Nablus operation “response to settler violence” in West Bank
The Hamas Movement has applauded the stabbing operation in Nablus, saying it came in response to ongoing settler violations and crimes against Palestinians and their property in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement on Monday, Hamas mourned the young man who was martyred after carrying out the operation, stressing that Palestinians in the West Bank would not stand idly by in the face of ongoing Zionist settlement expansion, displacement, and aggression.
“The operation comes amid escalating Israeli measures in the West Bank, including efforts to impose new faits accomplis on the ground, expand settlements, and undermine the Palestinian presence,” Hamas said.
A Palestinian young man was martyred a few hours after he carried out a stabbing operation at an illegal outpost in the occupied West Bank on Monday morning.
Media outlets reported that an extremist Jewish settler was severely wounded in the stabbing incident.
The stabbing incident comes amid a sharp rise in Israeli military violations and settler violence in the occupied West Bank.
On Sunday evening, a horde of armed settlers attacked the West Bank village of Hajja, killing a local resident and injuring four others.
