Hamas rejects Board of Peace’s remarks as “unfair to Palestinians”
The Hamas Movement has criticized a recent post published by the US-led Board of Peace on its official account on the X platform, saying its article contained information unrelated to reality and unfair positions against Palestinians and their resistance.
In a statement released on Saturday, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem stressed that the Board’s remarks failed to reflect, in a balanced manner, the field and political developments linked to the ceasefire agreement, portraying a distorted narrative that undermines the understandings over Gaza.
“The Board of Peace, given the role entrusted to it, must maintain a balanced and objective discourse and refrain from publishing material that could harm any Palestinian party or adopt the Zionist narrative regarding events in the Gaza Strip,” spokesman Qassem said.
The spokesman called on the Board of Peace and its envoy Nickolay Mladenov to focus their efforts on consolidating the truce, halting violations, and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gazans.
Observers believe the Board of Peace now faces a test that goes beyond statements and declarations. Formed under US president Donald Trump’s Gaza plan, this Board is expected to play roles in consolidating the ceasefire, overseeing the transitional phase, and supporting reconstruction.
The Board’s mandate also includes security and political arrangements tied to Gaza’s future. Within the same framework, an international stabilization force has been established to help implement the security and transitional arrangements.
