Gaza: Hospitals face imminent oxygen supply collapse

The health ministry has warned of catastrophic consequences as most oxygen generation stations in Gaza hospitals have stopped operating due to Israel’s continued ban on the entry of spare parts and maintenance supplies needed to run them.

According to Gaza’s health ministry, a severe oxygen shortage is crippling remaining hospital operations, putting dozens of critically ill and injured patients, especially those in intensive care and respiratory units, at immediate risk of death.

“The acute lack of respiratory support has severely affected 72 intensive care units, 54 neonatal and premature baby care units, and 19 pediatric intensive care units,” the health ministry said.

The ministry urged the international community and human rights organizations to pressure Zionist regime to open the border crossings and allow the urgent entry of vital spare parts and equipment required to maintain hospital operations.
