Iran’s Parliament speaker to visit Iraq to discuss regional developments

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf will travel to Iraq on Wednesday to discuss regional developments, strengthen strategic cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad, and explore joint efforts to promote stability and security in West Asia.

During his visit, Qalibaf, as head of a high-ranking parliamentary delegation, is scheduled to meet with senior Iraqi officials and other high-ranking figures to discuss enhancing bilateral relations, border security, counterterrorism efforts, expanding economic cooperation, and implementing existing bilateral agreements.

Last Month, Iraqi Prime Minister Al-Zaidi visited Tehran at the head of a high-level delegation to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Ali Falih Al-Zaidi pledged to strengthen strategic ties during talks in Tehran, highlighting the deep historical bonds between the two neighbors.
