Married couple, their daughter martyred in Zionist regime’s strike on Deir al-Balah

A married couple and their six-year-old daughter were killed Wednesday in a Zionist regime’s airstrike that hit a home near Al-Baraka Roundabout west of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

According to a local source, the strike killed Omar Sami Abu Qasim, 33, his wife, Asma Ghazi Abu Qasim, and their daughter, Habiba Omar Abu Qasim, 6.

Elsewhere in central Gaza, Zionist regime’s artillery shelled areas northeast of the Al-Bureij refugee camp.

Zionist regime’s forces also carried out extensive demolitions in the Qizan al-Najjar area south of Khan Yunis, while Israeli drones dropped explosives near the Bani Suheila Roundabout east of the city. The attacks coincided with heavy tank fire targeting eastern Khan Yunis.

In Gaza City, Zionist regime’s artillery shelled the Shuja’iyya neighborhood east of the city.

Zionist regime’s forces have continued military operations in Gaza despite the ceasefire agreement, including airstrikes, artillery shelling targeting areas where displaced civilians are sheltering, demolitions within the area known as the “Yellow Line,” and ongoing restrictions on the movement of goods, humanitarian aid, and travel.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 1,123 Palestinians have been martyred since the ceasefire began on October 10 of last year, while 3,599 others have been injured. The ministry also reported that the bodies of 800 victims have been recovered during the same period.

The ministry says the overall martyr toll since October 7, 2023, has risen to 73,247, with 173,707 people injured, underscoring the devastating human toll of the Israeli genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.
