Hamas calls for int’l action to end Israeli repressive measures against Palestinian prisoners
The Hamas Movement has warned of the dangers posed by new measures imposed by the Israeli administration of Ofer prison against Palestinian captivs, calling them a fresh escalation in the policy of violations against the detainees in Zionist regime jails.
In a statement on Saturday, Hamas said that these new punitive measures reflect Israel’s persistence in its “terrorist policies” that violate international law, stressing that such practices would not break the will or resilience of the prisoners.
“The issue of the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails will remain a national priority for the Palestinian people and their resistance until their freedom is wrested from the Israeli occupation,” Hamas added.
The Movement slammed the international silence on Israel’s crimes and the failure to hold its leaders accountable for the abuses committed against Palestinians, whether inside or outside prisons.
It called on human rights and humanitarian organizations to take urgent action to end the escalating violations against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
