Zionist regime’s authorities cancel lawyers’ visits to Palestinian captives
Zionist regime’s authorities have canceled all legal visits scheduled for Monday for Palestinian captives held in Zionist regime’s prisons and have also barred captives’ families from attending hearings at the Ofer Military Court.
The announcement came in a joint statement by the Palestinian Authority’s Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian captives Society.
According to the statement, lawyers were informed that all prisoner visits scheduled for Monday had been canceled due to the “current security situation.”
Zionist regime’s authorities also announced that families of captives would not be allowed to attend court hearings at Ofer Military Court. Proceedings will be limited to detention-extension hearings and administrative detention cases.
Approximately 9,500 Palestinians are currently held in Zionist regime’s prisons, including women and children. Palestinian and Zionist regime’s human rights organizations have documented allegations of starvation, torture, and medical neglect in detention facilities, conditions that have reportedly contributed to the deaths of dozens of captives.
