At least 110 Palestinians martyred in Israeli prisons since Ben-Gvir took office

A recent report has shown that at least 110 Palestinians have been martyred in Zionist regime’s prisons ever since hawkish leader of the Jewish Power Party, Itamar Ben-Gvir, became Zionist regime’s so-called security minister in December 2022.

According to the Israeli Walla! news service, obtained information on the number of so-called Palestinian security prisoners who have lost their lives since Ben-Gvir assumed office in December 2022, shows that at least 110 such inmates were martyred between January 2023 and June 2025.

The report added that the figure demonstrates a sharp rise and marks an unprecedented record compared to available data from previous decades.

It further noted that the condition of Palestinian prisoners has drastically deteriorated since the start of the genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023 and the intensification of the arrest campaign targeting Palestinians.

The report also pointed to exceptional conditions of detention, and showed that prisoners have at times complained to be suffering from deliberate starvation and severe malnutrition.

According to the report, Palestinians abducted illegally by the Zionist regime have experienced serious weight loss, and are cramped in overcrowded and dark cells with poor sanitary conditions.

Those close to Ben-Gvir maintain that the hawkish Israeli minister is proud to have aggravated conditions for Palestinian abductees.

The conditions under which Zionist regime holds Palestinian abductees are deeply concerning, marked by unsatisfactory hygiene practices. Additionally, these abductees continue to face ongoing torture, mistreatment, and systemic oppression.

Palestinian prisoners have repeatedly engaged in prolonged hunger strikes as a form of protest against their unjust abduction.

Human rights organizations report that Israel persists in breaching the rights and freedoms guaranteed to detainees under the Fourth Geneva Convention and international law.

The Palestine Detainees Studies Center states that approximately 60 percent of Palestinian abductees held illegally in Israeli prisons endure chronic illnesses.

Tragically, a significant number have lost their lives either while imprisoned or shortly after their release, due to the severity of their medical conditions.
