Hamas denies statements attributed to senior member published by Al-Araby Al-Jadeed

The Hamas Movement has denied the accuracy of a report published by the newspaper Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, which quoted a “senior Hamas official” discussing issues related to military escalation and leadership vacancies.

The Movement emphasized that the information contained in the report is completely unfounded.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, Hamas expressed regret that such claims were published without verifying their accuracy with the movement itself. It also warned that the circulation of unreliable information could put Palestinian leaders at risk of being targeted.

Al-Araby Al-Jadeed had published a report on Saturday evening, citing what it called a “senior Hamas source,” claiming that the movement had filled the leadership gaps left by assassinations during the war, across military, political, and administrative levels.

According to the report, the restructuring included Hamas’s armed wing (Al-Qassam Brigades), the political bureau, and the Shura Council, in addition to administrative positions responsible for managing civilian affairs in the Gaza Strip.

The source also claimed that the Movement had formed a technical committee to prepare for transferring the administration of Gaza to a “technocratic committee,” and that a list of candidates for its leadership and membership was already prepared based on a pre-designed organizational structure.

The report added that this committee was supposed to serve as the foundation for a new civilian administration in Gaza in the upcoming phase.
