Hamas calls Israel’s demolition of 24 homes in Jenin refugee camp 'a war crime'

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has strongly condemned Zionist regime for demolishing 24 homes in the Jenin refugee camp, calling it "a war crime."

Hamas said in a statement on Friday that the Zionist regime’s move marks a dangerous escalation.

The group accused Zionist regime of pursuing ethnic cleansing, aiming to destroy the camp, displace its residents, and change the demographic reality of the West Bank.

Hamas urged Arab states, the United Nations, and the international community to take responsibility, impose sanctions, and act immediately to protect Palestinians in the West Bank, al-Quds, and Gaza, who it says face systematic genocide.

The Zionist regime’s army on Friday demolished 24 buildings in Jenin. Hundreds of homes have already been demolished this year in Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nablus (also known as Nur Shams).

An Israeli member of Knesset (Parliament) said on Thursday that Tel Aviv was “importing” its “war of extermination” from the Gaza Strip to the occupied West Bank.

Ofer Cassif, a member of the Hadash political coalition in Knesset, made the remarks after Israeli forces killed two Palestinian men in the West Bank city of Jenin during a prolonged raid.

The deaths were confirmed by the Palestinian Authority, which identified the victims as 26-year-old Al‑Muntasir Mahmoud Qassem Abdullah and 37-year-old Youssef Ali Youssef Asasa. They condemned the shooting as “a full-fledged war crime and a flagrant violation of all international laws, conventions, norms, and humanitarian values.”
