Free Palestinian Hostages’ campaign turns Westminster red

Westminster streets in central London have been flooded with striking red marks as part of a new symbolic campaign titled “Free Palestinian Hostages.”

The initiative aims to draw attention to the thousands of Palestinians currently held in Zionist regime’s prisons and to remind the world of their ongoing suffering.

According to campaign organizers, there are around 9,100 Palestinian hostages detained by Zionist regime including 3,544 held under administrative detention without charge, 400 children, 53 women, and 16 doctors, in addition to 300 serving life sentences.

The campaign’s current focus is on doctors, women, and children, highlighting their human stories through red ribbons, posters, and visual displays across key locations in London. Volunteers are also producing short videos to be shared across social media platforms and media outlets, with the ambition of turning the movement into a global trend that anyone can join.

Why red?

Organizers say the red color was chosen as a unifying visual symbol, representing both the blood of Palestinian martyrs and the ongoing suffering in Israeli prisons. While other colors carry different associations, red, one of the colors of the Palestinian flag, has been adopted as a bold emblem of resistance and remembrance.

The campaign carries no specific organizational name, as it seeks to remain inclusive and global in nature. Its message is simple: to remind the world that the Palestinians held by Israel are not forgotten, and that their freedom remains a moral responsibility shared by all.
