Israeli arrest campaign targets 442 Palestinians in West Bank during October
Zionist troops kidnapped a staggering 442 Palestinians throughout the West Bank during the month of October, in a continued policy of suppression across the occupied Palestinian territories.
This figure represents a relentless campaign of arrests, according to joint data released by Palestinian prisoners’ organizations.
The highest number of detentions was concentrated in the Bethlehem governorate, located in the southern West Bank.
Among the hundreds forcibly taken were vulnerable groups, including three women and 33 children, underscoring the severe human rights implications of these operations against the civilian population.
The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society, and the Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association highlighted that these sweeping arrests were conducted amidst Israeli military raids and were frequently accompanied by widespread field interrogations throughout various Palestinian communities.
The organizations reported last week that over 9,250 Palestinian political prisoners and detainees are currently held in Israeli occupation prisons.
The vast majority of these individuals are held indefinitely without formal charge or trial under the controversial practice of administrative detention, or are held pending investigation, effectively neutralizing a large portion of Palestinian society.
The reported figure does not account for the thousands of Palestinians detained from the Gaza Strip, many of whom are held in undisclosed detention camps, including the notorious Sde Teiman site, effectively vanishing into Israel's prison system.
