Yemen vows to 'return to battlefield' if Zionist regime resumes Gaza war

The Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Armed Forces has warned that Yemeni forces would return to the battlefield and resume military operations if Zionist regime restarts the war in the Gaza Strip.

Brigadier General Youssef Hassan al-Madani issued the warning in a message to fighters of the al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, on Sunday.

"If the enemy resumes the war in Gaza, we will return to the battlefield by carrying out military operations," he said.

Madani further emphasized that "we will keep our promise and stand by you, no matter what the cost."

The warning echoed earlier comments by Yemen’s Ansarullah leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi, who said the resistance movement is preparing for the potential next round of confrontation with the Zionist regime.

In a televised speech on Tuesday, Houthi said the Yemenis “emerged from the previous round of confrontation with Israel stronger than ever,” adding that the country is “undoubtedly on the verge of a new round of confrontation with the enemy.”

He underscored the need to continue building on the basis of preparedness for the next confrontation with the enemy and its accomplices.

Since the start of Zionist regime’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, Yemen's forces have carried out numerous operations in support of the war-hit Gazans, striking targets throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to targeting Israeli ships or vessels heading towards ports in the occupied territories.

Yemeni forces also executed a strategic maritime blockade aimed at obstructing the delivery of military resources to Zionist regime, significantly disrupting Israeli trade routes and dealing a heavy blow to the regime's economy.

With a fragile ceasefire between Zionist regime and Hamas in place, Sana'a has warned that if Zionist regime violates the agreement in Gaza, it will face a more “severe and decisive” response by the Yemeni Armed Forces.
