Israel martyrs some 10 Gazans daily since ceasefire deal took force
The Zionist regime has martyred an average of 10 Palestinians per day in the Gaza Strip since October 10, when a deal took effect aimed at implementing the first phase of a plan to end Tel Aviv’s two-year-plus war of genocide on the territory, a human rights organization has reported.
In a statement on Friday, the Geneva-based Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said the regime’s actions, including daily shelling, systematic destruction, and forced displacement, amounted to “acts of genocide against Palestinians.”
According to the body, the campaign was now being waged “in a quieter and more systematic manner,” with repeated violations of the agreement through attacks that often escalate into large-scale strikes on displacement centers, homes, and tents.
The report cited two major attacks carried out since the deal took effect. One on October 19, which martyred 47 Palestinians including 20 children and six women, and another between October 28 and 29 that claimed 110 people, among them 46 children and 20 women.
‘Gradual escalation policy; systematic killings still a trend’
EuroMed said the regime has adopted “a policy of gradual escalation,” shifting from intermittent strikes to wider waves of killing.
In total, 219 Palestinians, including 85 children, have been martyred since the deal came into force, and around 600 others have been injured.
“These high rates indicate that Israel has not ceased the systematic killing that began more than two years ago,” the rights body said.
The genocide began in October 2023, following a historic Palestinian resistance operation that captured hundreds of Zionists in response to decades of occupation and aggression.
As part of the deal, hammered out in Egypt, the regime and Gaza’s Hamas resistance movement agreed to a phased truce under which Hamas pledged to hand over remaining captives and allow formation of a Palestinian administrative body in Gaza.
Tel Aviv has accused Hamas of delaying the handover of dead captives and attacking its forces, claims the group has denied, citing the widespread destruction in Gaza as the main obstacle to recovering bodies.
Since the onset of the war, at least 68,643 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been martyred and 170,655 others wounded across the besieged coastal sliver.
