Two Zionist troops injured in West Bank raid; Hamas lauds Palestinian resistance

The Zionist regie’s military has confirmed that two of its troops were injured during clashes with Palestinians in a raid in the occupied West Bank city of Tubas, after which Hamas reaffirmed that the resistance would not be “broken or subdued” amid Israel's intensified aggression.

According to the Zionist regie’s occupation army, the two troops were moderately wounded by an explosive device thrown at them by a Palestinian during raids on Saturday evening.

The incident took place during “offensive activity” in the area, the army said, adding that both soldiers have been taken to the hospital as Israeli troops continue their search for the assailant.

Reacting to the development, the Gaza-based resistance movement praised the heroic retaliatory operation by the resistance groups in the occupied West Bank and said the will of Palestinians is stronger than “tools of oppression.”

“The Tubas operation confirms that the resistance in the West Bank will not be broken or subdued. The will of our people is stronger than all tools of oppression, and it will not be broken by policies of brutality and terrorism,” Hamas said in a statement.

"Our people have the legitimate right to respond to the escalating crimes of the occupation. We salute the heroes of the resistance who remain steadfast in the field despite all difficulties. We affirm that the continuation of these operations is a sincere expression of our people's anger and rejection of the occupation,” it added.

Palestine’s official WAFA news agency reported on Saturday evening that Israeli forces stormed Tubas with a large convoy of military vehicles, and additional reinforcements, including two bulldozers, later arrived from the Tayasir checkpoint east of the city.

The occupation forces bulldozed part of the main street in the center of Tubas, closed the southern entrance to the city with earth mounds and demolished sections of the main road near the Tayasir junction, according to the news agency.

"Infantry troops, accompanied by snipers, were deployed across several neighborhoods, raiding multiple homes,” WAFA reported, citing local sources. Witnesses said forces raided several homes, forcing residents to leave their homes, which were then used as military posts for several hours.

The raid caused extensive damage and further restricted movement for the Tubas residents, who have been facing repeated incursions and closures in recent weeks amid intensified Israeli onslaught across the occupied West Bank.

In a post on X on Friday, the United Nations Human Rights Office (OHCHR) said more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed - predominantly by the Israeli military as well as settlers in the West Bank - over the past two years.

Since October 7, 2023, Zionist regie has intensified its aggression towards Palestinians throughout the occupied West Bank, following the initiation of its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

Hundreds of Palestinians have lost their lives since the beginning of the war, and thousands more have sustained injuries due to actions taken by Israeli settlers or military forces across the occupied territory.

Over 700,000 Zionist settlers reside in more than 230 settlements established since the 1967 Zionist regie’s occupation of the West Bank and East al-Quds.

The global community considers the settlements to be unlawful according to international law and the Geneva Conventions.
