Resistance groups denounce Zionists' attack on Hamas leaders in Doha

Zionist regime's airstrikes on the headquarters of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in the Qatari capital, Doha, have sparked widespread condemnation, with many denouncing it as "a serious violation of international law" and Qatar’s sovereignty.

In a statement on Tuesday, Hamas condemned the attempted assassination by Israel targeting its negotiating delegation in Doha. The Palestinian group described the strike as a “heinous crime” and a violation of international law.

Hamas confirmed that its senior negotiators survived the attack, but five members of the group were killed, including Jihad Labad, director of the office of senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya, Hammam al-Hayya, son of Khalil al-Hayya, Abdullah Abdul Wahid, Moumen Hassouna, and Ahmed al-Mamlouk-- all described as companions of the delegation

The group also mourned the death of Badr Saad Muhammad Al-Humaidi, a Qatari security officer.

Hamas said that Zionist regime's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was trying to sabotage peace efforts and also held the Trump administration to account for supporting Israel’s actions.

The statement said the attack once again showed Israel poses a threat to regional and global stability and is continuing policies of displacement and destruction against Palestinians.

The Palestinian resistance movement Islamic Jihad also strongly condemned the targeting of the meeting of Hamas leaders, labeling it “a fully criminal act” that disregards humanitarian standards, values, and the most basic international laws and norms.

The resistance movement said this “heinous” act of targeting reaffirms Israel’s commitment to perpetuating bloodshed in the ongoing genocidal war against the Palestinian people, posing a significant threat that cannot be overlooked.

The Islamic Jihad held the administration of US President Donald Trump responsible for allowing the regime to act without restraint, particularly following the White House's endorsement of a “Trump proposal.”

Additionally, Hussein al-Sheikh, the Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), condemned the “heinous” attack, saying it “constitutes a serious violation of international law and the sovereignty of the State of Qatar."

He said the attack “is considered a threat to security and stability in the region.”
