Israel bombs out 50th residential tower in Gaza City amid intensified attacks

The Israeli regime has intensified its attacks on the Gaza Strip, razing another residential tower in Gaza City, the 50th one, amid a ground offensive to occupy the area.

The regime’s military rained down bombs on the five-story al-Ruya Tower on Sunday after issuing its residents a last-minute evacuation warning.

Last month, it began subjecting the city of around one million residents to its most ferocious assault yet throughout its October 2023-present war of genocide on the Gaza Strip.

Tel Aviv has dubbed the assault “Gideon Chariots II,” a sequel to a similarly indiscriminate, but yet unprecedentedly violent series of attacks on the coastal sliver, while announcing its intent to bring the city under wholesale Israeli occupation.

The head of the Palestinian NGOs Network, Amjad Shawa, who was near the site of the attack on al-Ruya Tower, said that the situation “is scary,” with panic spreading among the people.

“Today, hundreds of families lost their shelters. Israel [is] aiming to force Palestinians to the southern areas using these explosions,” he said.

According to the official, however, the regime’s push to force out the city’s residents comes while “there is no safe place in the south” or any so-called “humanitarian zone” that has been announced by the regime.

The Sunday attack came after the military targeted the 15-story Soussi Tower in the city on Saturday and the 12-story Mushtaha Tower on Friday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who faces an arrest warrant for targeting Gaza with numerous war crimes and crimes against humanity as part of the genocide, has alleged that the attacks were aimed at “eliminating terrorist infrastructure.”

The genocide has claimed the lives of nearly 64,400 Palestinians, mostly women and children, so far.
