Hamas, Islamic Jihad slam Israel’s ‘fascist aggression’ against civilian infrastructure in Yemen

Hamas and Islamic Jihad denounced Zionist regime’s deadly attacks on Yemen’s capital and civilian infrastructure, describing it as “a blatant violation of international law” and the price of defending Palestine.

In a statement released on Sunday, Hamas asserted that Zionist regime’s “fascist aggression” against Yemen was intended to stop them from supporting Palestinians.

“The terrorist Zionist aggression against brotherly Yemen, targeting residential and civilian areas, constitutes a blatant violation of the Arab countries’ sovereignty and international laws,” read the statement.

“This fascist aggression aims to deter Yemen from supporting our oppressed Palestinian people,” it added.

The Gaza-based resistance group underlined that the aggression requires a firm Arab and Islamic position in support of Yemen and solidarity with the Palestinian people against Zionist brutality and its colonial goals, particularly after Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu openly expressed his desire to achieve the “Greater Israel illusion” by seizing Arab lands.

Hamas further called for Arab and Islamic nations, along with all free forces, to “join this honorable path for the sake of ending the occupation and liberating our holy sites and all our occupied Arab lands.”

Zionist regime carried out deadly airstrikes on Yemen’s Sana’a on Sunday, killing at least six people and wounding 86 others.

The strikes also hit the Hazeiz power station and a civilian fuel facility, plunging parts of the capital into darkness.

Zionist regime claimed it also targeted the presidential palace in Sana’a, describing it as part of a “military complex.”

In a separate statement, Islamic Jihad also condemned Zionist regime’s aggression against civilian infrastructure and the targeting of Yemeni leaders.

The resistance group noted that the attacks constitute a war crime that the United States fully backs.

“The Yemeni people are paying the price for their steadfast stance in supporting the Palestinian people and for their efforts to stop the crimes in the Gaza Strip,” the statement added.

Following the Zionist regime’s aggression, Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the political bureau of the Ansarullah resistance movement, said, “The Israeli aggression against Yemen will not discourage us from continuing our support for Gaza, no matter the sacrifices.”

He stated that the Zionist regime’s attacks on Yemen are a direct reaction to the impact of Yemen’s recent missile strike on occupied territories and that the recent aggression “will be responded to with more operations.”

Also on Sunday night, the political office of Ansarallah said in a statement that the regime’s aggression against Yemen is a “desperate attempt to dissuade the Yemeni nation and armed forces from continuing to help the Gaza Strip.”

It described the continuation of the Zionist regime’s war crimes as an attempt to claim a “symbolic victory” and a sign of its intelligence failure and inability to confront Yemen’s military operations.

“Yemen pledges not to refrain from any action within the framework of defending its sovereignty in response to the enemy’s aggression,” it concluded.

Zionist regime’s Sunday airstrikes came just two days after the Yemeni Armed Forces fired a hypersonic missile and several drones that bypassed Israel’s air defense systems and struck critical targets inside the occupied territories.

Since Zionist regime launched its genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, Yemeni forces have carried out scores of retaliatory attacks in solidarity with Palestinians and enforced a sea blockade that has paralyzed the Israeli economy, vowing they will not stop until the war and blockade on the besieged strip end.
