UNRWA: 40,000 children killed or injured in Gaza genocide

Lazzarini pointed out that at least 100 children have died from malnutrition and starvation amid the ongoing Israeli siege.

The Commissioner-General further noted that at least 17,000 children in Gaza have been either separated from their families or are without any basic facilities, and that nearly one million children are suffering from severe psychological trauma and are unable to attend school.

Since 7 October 2023, Zionist regime, backed by the United States, has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, involving mass killings, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, disregarding international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the assault.

The genocide has resulted in over 215,000 Palestinians martyred or injured, most of whom are women and children; more than 11,000 are missing, and hundreds of thousands are displaced. Famine has claimed many lives, mostly children, and widespread devastation has erased most cities and regions of the Strip from the map.
