Egypt, Turkey & Qatar
put pressure on Zionists
Hamas envoy
Khalid al-Qadoumi in an interview with Qodsna has called on Egypt and other Islamic mediators, Qatar and Turkey, to put pressure on the Zionist regime to reopen the Gaza border crossings.
In an exclusive interview with Qods News Agency, Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) representative in Tehran, Khalid al-Qadoumi talked about Palestinians’ expectations of Egypt as an important country in the Arab world and that can play a more influential role in the Palestinian issue, saying: Egypt has played a big role in the past three years but we expect Egypt, along with other countries, will play a mediating role, which will lead to good results, God willing.
"We expect Egypt, a brotherly and neighboring country, as well as our brothers in Turkey and Qatar and all lovers of the Palestinian nation to use appropriate and effective diplomatic tools to pressure the Zionist regime to reopen the border crossings and bring food and medical aid into the Gaza Strip," he said.
"Tens of thousands of our people have been martyred in the Gaza Strip in defending the security of the region and many homes have been destroyed," he said.
We are stressed on the fulfilment of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, which calls for the withdrawal of Israeli troops and the reopening of crossings and the entry of food, medical equipment and supplies, Hamas envoy added.
"The formation of the Palestinian National Committee was at the suggestion of the Egyptian brothers. The committee held several meetings in Egypt with the relevant parties. We hope that it will enter Gaza and fulfill its mission such as rebuilding the Gaza Strip and preparing for the Palestinian elections," he said.
