After war against Iran, regional equations are changing

In an exclusive interview with Qods News Agency (Qodsna), Dr. Talal Atrisi , Professor of Sociology and Director of the Institute of Social Sciences at the Lebanese University stated that some regional countries believed that the Zionist regime and the United States could weaken Iran or limit its regional influence, but the latest developments showed that Iran has the ability to resist, and these countries forced seriously to reconsider their strategies.

The assessment by some Arab countries in the Persian Gulf that Iran was incapable of confronting Israel or the United States "was wrong", he added.

These situations have made regional countries less trust to the claims of the Zionist regime and will be more inclined to interact with Iran as a stable and reliable power, Atrisi noted.

Dr. Atrisi added that the recent aggression of Zionist regime and United Sates against Iran has shown that the presence of powerful military bases in the countries of the region has exposed them to serious dangers, and the cost of hosting these bases on their soil has increased significantly.

He also noted that the Zionist regime would face major challenges, while Iran would be in a position of power, and this could pave the way for broader cooperation between the countries of the region and Iran, which would benefit the people of the region.

 “Today, the US withdrawal from West Asia seems likely, and this process paves the way for a new perspective in the region, in which Iran will play a leading role.”, Lebanese expert added.

Referring to the continued ceasefire violations by Zionist regime through carrying out airstrikes on southern Lebanon, Atrisi emphasized that Zionist regime’s continuous attacks indicate the depth of regime’s strategic defeat and the failure of the regime's mission in Lebanon.
