US irked by ICJ ruling demanding Israel facilitate UNRWA aid to Gaza

The US has rebuked a recent ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) obliging Zionist regime to facilitate the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip.

The panel of 11 judges said on Wednesday that Zionist regime has an obligation under human rights law to allow essential aid provided by the United Nations and its entities to reach the Gaza Strip.

The court also demanded Israel “co-operate in good faith” with the UN by providing assistance to the region.

The ICJ also found that Israel “has not substantiated its allegations that a significant part of UNRWA employees ‘are members of [Palestinian resistance movement] Hamas ... or other terrorist factions.’”

In a post on X shortly after, the US State Department said, “Another corrupt ruling by the ICJ."

It defended the actions of both Zionist regime and the administration of President Donald Trump in the region, while repeating long-held allegations tying the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to Hamas.

The State Department rejected the ruling as "a nakedly politicized" non-binding advisory opinion which "unfairly" bases Israel and gives UNRWA a free pass for its "deep entanglement with and material support for Hamas."

"This ICJ's ongoing abuse of its advisory opinion discretion suggests that it is nothing more than a partisan political tool, which can be weaponized against Americans," it further claimed.

The Trump administration claims that some of UNRWA members were involved in the October 7 attacks against Israel and seeks to sever ties with the UN agency.

The allegations are rejected by both Hams and UNRWA.

Zionist regime unleashed its genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after Hamas carried out the historic Al-Aqsa Flood operation against the usurping entity in retaliation for the regime’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Zionist regime accepted a Gaza ceasefire deal after two years, following the failure to achieve its declared objectives of eliminating Hamas and freeing all captives, despite martyring at least 68,234 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 170,373 others.

Hamas says it remains committed to the US-brokered truce despite Israel's repeated violations.
