Yemenis stage nationwide rallies in solidarity with Gaza, condemn Israel’s genocide

Hundreds of thousands of Yemenis have taken to the streets nationwide in a strong show of solidarity with Palestinians, denouncing the Israeli regime’s ongoing genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip.

On Friday, large crowds rallied in the capital Sana’a and across several provinces, including Sa’ada, Raymah and Ma’rib.

The central square in Sa’ada was the scene of an unprecedented turnout of Yemeni people in support of Gaza as they chanted slogans condemning the plots of the Zionist regime and the US against the people of Palestine and their courageous resistance.

Protesters reiterated Yemen's principled and consistent positions in support of the Palestinian people and the resistance.

They also denounced the proposed US-Israeli 'peace deal', calling it a compromise plan being implemented in cooperation with some Arab countries in the region to exert pressure on the Palestinian resistance.

In a statement, the demonstrators emphasized the need to continue weekly rallies in support of the Palestinian people and in firm opposition to the plots of the United States and the Israeli regime in the region.

They vowed to resolutely pursue their positions every time that more conspiracies are hatched against the Palestinian people.

The statement called on the Arab and Muslim nations to abandon surrender and to be vigilant against the enemies’ conspiracies against the supporters of Palestine.

It also urged world leaders and free people to take serious measures to support Palestine.

Every week, Yemenis have been staging mass protests across the country to decry the Israeli atrocities in Gaza, and to reiterate their support for the country’s retaliatory operations.

Since the onset of Zionist regime’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, Yemen's forces have carried out scores of operations in support of the war-hit Gazans, striking targets throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to targeting Israeli ships or vessels heading towards ports in the occupied territories.

Zionist regime launched a genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in response to the regime's decades-long campaign of death and devastation against Palestinians.

The regime’s bloody onslaught on Gaza has martyred more than 66,288 Palestinians and injured 169,165 others, mostly children and women.
