Palestine Museum opens in Istanbul

The Turkish Association for Solidarity with Palestine opened on Thursday, July 20, the "Palestine Museum" in Istanbul with the aim of introducing the history and culture of Palestine to the Arab and Muslim communities, the Turkish people and tourists.

In an opening speech, director of the association Ibrahim al-Ali said that the museum is considered a historical panorama covering the history of Palestine from the ancient times of the Islamic conquest until the 2021 Sword of Jerusalem battle in Gaza.

Al-Ali explained that the museum sheds light on Palestine’s cultural and artistic heritage, as well as its antiquities, landmarks, and geography and the Palestinian people’s struggle against the Israeli occupation.

The museum also contains exhibits symbolizing the rural, Bedouin and civil life in Palestine, in addition to sections dedicated to Palestinian writers and intellectuals, al-Ali added.

He stressed this museum contributes to raising the visitors’ awareness about the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian heritage through providing them with a rich educational and cultural experience.
